Augemented reality (AR) provides tradeshow sponsors a way to display their products in a unique way

Overview

Modern Day Marine is one of the largest military tradeshows, comprised of 3 annual events culminating in its Quantico, Virginia location. Industry giants from General Dynamics to Raytheon to Lockheed Martin attend each show location annually to showcase their latest products and services. MDM reached out to us to provide an app that would offer sponsorship revenue as well as assist vendors in showcasing their products.

• We created a stand-alone app for MDM, available in app stores, that would engage and introduce visitors to MDM and its sponsor partners
• Utilizing green-screen videos, our video team filmed General Mike Regner, who was the MC of the MDM app
• For participating sponsors we offered services such as green screen videography, script writing, custom animations, and AR interactivity
• We created two versions off the app, a tabletop and a life size experience
• For General Dynamics, the lead sponsor, we created a 3D model of their LAV using the CAD engineering drawings. To explore the vehicle users could walk around the virtual model. By tapping highlighted areas of the model, the skin of the vehicle would be removed and the internal components would “pop out” for further exploration
• We wrote and animated an AR experience for the NMCRS that tied into their financial education augmented reality program we developed
• To make the app profitable for MDM and affordable to a variety of vendors, we created a tiered offering structure with 3 levels of sponsorship
• The AR experiences live long after the show, and potential clients were easily able to share the content with colleagues
• Participants noted increased awareness, inquiry into their featured AR products, as well as longevity to their investment as they continue to use the app to showcase offerings
